A: Our online order only allows ordering in advance – 24hrs notice. If you need the cake for today, you can come by our store, or you can go to UberEats for same day delivery. If you have any additional issues placing an order online, you can contact us at 416-513-1118.

Q: How far in advance do I need to place the order for the cake?
A: The minimum would be 24hrs in advance. We highly recommend you pre-order at least 3 or 4 days in advance, especially for big cakes, so that we guarantee we have enough ingredients to make your order. Also, we always have an online promotion, so make sure you check out our promo code of the month to save 5% on your order.

Q: Can I order the cake for tomorrow?
A: Our online cut off time for next day pick up/delivery is noon (EST) on our website. If noon has passed, you can call us at 416-513-1118 to consult with our team. We can’t guarantee we can prepare your exact order, but we’ll try our best to accommodate.

Q: Can I select a specific window for the delivery time?
A: Delivery is available Monday to Sunday, from 11am to 5:00pm. Due to unpredictable weather and traffic conditions, we require at least a two hour window during which we may deliver. If the delivery time is affected due to situations beyond our control, a member of our team or our driver will notify you.
Delivery times available from Monday to Sunday are as follows: 11:00am-1:00pm, 1:00pm-4:00pm, 4:00pm-7:00pm. Specific time requests cannot be accommodated. There is no delivery service on Statutory holidays. -
Q: What should I do if I missed my delivery?
A: We are not responsible for orders left unattended. If the first attempt at delivery is missed, no refunds will be given. You may either pick up your item in store, or request a second attempt. Second attempts at a delivery will not be made unless requested and paid in full prior to the delivery. Any further attempt will not be made.
To ensure that the delivery is successful, please make sure that the recipient will be at the given delivery address to receive their package during the time frame you have selected. Please provide us with specific delivery instructions (i.e., “leave with concierge”/“bring to front door”), a contact name, and contact phone number prior to delivery. This is very important, as many products are perishable and therefore must be kept refrigerated. -

Q: Do you sell Strawberry Shortcake or Black Forest Cake on Uber?
A: We don’t sell whole cakes for Strawberry Shortcake and Black Forest Cake on Uber, only slices. Whole cakes are only available via pick up from our store or delivery by our own drivers as these cakes are more fragile and prone to getting ruined during delivery.

Q: Can I give you my credit card information on the phone and pay it manually?
A: For phone orders, our store policy requires the credit card information for reserving the cakes and other products. You will still need to come to the store to pay for the order by (any) card or by cash because we cannot manually process the transaction over the phone.

Q: Can I cancel my order?
A: Cancellation for any products is only possible at least two full days (48 hours) ahead of the pick-up time to cancel the order. Cancellations must be done in person or over the phone at 416-924-3223. Cancellations made via email, or left on our voicemail system cannot be processed.
If you made your order online, we can provide a refund to the same card used for the transaction within 3-5 business days.
If you made the order in-person, we can provide a refund by cash at our store.
In the case of Speciality Cakes, the mandatory deposit is completely non-refundable. -
Q: What is the promotion code this month?
A: To save 5% on your order, you can check our website banner for the promo code. This promo code is only applicable for online orders, and not in-person, phone, or UberEats orders.

Q: I live overseas and I want to order a surprise cake to deliver to my friend/partner/family member in Canada/Toronto.
A: Delivery is restricted to Toronto and some areas in the GTA. To check if we deliver to the person’s address, you can add a product to cart, then check out. In the checkout page, you can enter their postal code to determine eligibility for delivery and receive a delivery fee estimate.
We will try our best not to contact the recipient, so please make sure that they will be at the given delivery address to receive their package during the time frame you have selected. Q: I ordered a cake online, can someone else pick it up for me?
A: As long as the other person picking up the cake has the order number and your contact information, then they can pick up the cake on your behalf.

Q: Do you have cakes available for pick up immediately?
A: Yes, we have some cakes available in 5 inches (feeds 2-4 ppl), 6 inches (feeds 4-6 ppl), and 8 inches (feeds 6-10 ppl) available for pick up immediately in-store. However, we recommend you pre-order in advance in case we sell out of the cake you are looking for.

Q: If I need a cake delivered before 11am, is this possible?
A: We can make a special arrangement under certain circumstances. When you place the order online, on the checkout page, please put down the delivery time that is within our store hours (9:30 am to 7 pm) in the Delivery/Pick up Comments. We will email you to confirm if we can accommodate your request.

Q: I need to reschedule the pickup date/delivery date for my cake today. How can I do that?
A: You can give us a call at 416-513-1118 to let our team know that you will pick it up the next day, or arrange for someone else to pick up the cake on your behalf. Unfortunately, we cannot remake the cake.

A: You can give us a call at 416-513-1118 at least 48 hours in advance to the original date to let our team know the different date and time for pickup.

Q: I need to commute for 1 hour after picking up my cake, will the cake be okay?
A: It depends on the season and on the cake. Our buttercream cake and red velvet cake need to be taken out of the fridge 2 hours before serving, so those would hold better during the commute than other cakes.

A: 3 layers of Sponge Cake, 2 layers of fresh diced up strawberries, fresh whipped cream.

Q: Can you make your cake less sweet/half sweet?
A: Unfortunately not. But is that your first time to try our cakes? We make everything in house and most of our cakes are not too sweet, especially the Strawberry Shortcake.

A: Since the Strawberry Shortcake contains fresh strawberries, we suggest you consume it within the first 2 days.

Q: Are your cakes freshly made everyday?
A: Logistically, we won’t be able to. There is a lot of baking, assembling, setting involved and in between. We make our strawberry shortcakes everyday. Most of the Mousse Cake requires 6 hrs to set. Cheesecakes require 10hrs to set before we can unmold. If you want freshly made, we highly recommend you pre-order on our website as we make cakes fresh to order.

Q: Can you put a picture on the cake?

A: Unfortunately, we do not print the edible image on its own.

A: No, our carrot cake does not contain any raisins, pineapple, or coconut. It only contains walnut and feuilletine (French pastry wafer) on the exterior.

A: All of our Mousse cakes, Tiramisu, Matcha Tiramisu, Double Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Buttercream, and Double Chocolate Cake with Raspberry Buttercream contain Gelatin (animal by-products).

Q: I’m looking to order some branded logo cookies, how much are they?
A: We offer 3 different sizes: 2”, 2.5”, & 3”. We do offer different bulk discounts if you order more than 50 and 150 cookies respectively.

Q: What kind of file should I provide for the edible printing?
A: We accept only .jpg and .jpeg files for edible printing. For the best result, we highly recommend going with a high-resolution image with a white background and avoiding the colour purple (it often prints more blueish than true purple).

Q: Would the colour of edible printing look exactly the same as my image online?
A: Since this is edible printing and not laser printing, it doesn’t work with RGB or CMYK colour codes. We use food colouring for printing, and there are some FDA restrictions. Most of the time, it will look very similar to your logo. If you are ordering more than 50 cookies, you can also send us the logo at info@dessertlady.ca and request a mock-up at an additional charge.

Q: How many pieces of fruits are in the fruit platter?
A: We do not count the pieces of fruit in each platter as they may be cut in different sizes. For our smallest platter, which feeds 5-10 ppl, we fill up a 12-inch catering tray. Our medium platter tray, which feeds 20-30 ppl, fills a 16-inch tray. Our largest platter tray, which feeds 30-40 ppl, fills an 18-inch tray.

A: The tea sandwich platter includes egg salad, cucumber, smoked salmon, ham and cheese, and tuna salad sandwiches.

A: We are located at 1 Sultan Street, near the Bay and Bloor intersection. We are a 5-minute walk from Bay station and Museum station. We are an 8-minute walk from Yonge station.

Q: Is there parking outside or near your shop?
A: The closest parking lot to our shop are The Colonnade @ 131 Bloor Street West and 55/57 Charles Street West Apts - Lot #113.
There is also street parking available on Charles Street (south of the shop) and Bloor Street (north of the shop). -
Q: What are your store hours?
A: We are open daily from 9:30am to 7pm. Our breakfast hours are from 9:30am to 11am, then we have all-day lunch from 11am to 7pm.

A: We are open every day, including statutory holidays, except for Christmas Day (December 25th).

Q: Can I use my laptop in the cafe?
A: There is no Wi-Fi in our café and we strongly discourage the use of laptops during weekends and 11am to 3pm on weekdays to maintain a cozy and social space for all customers.

Q: Can I bring my pet/dog to your café?
A: We only allow service animals inside the shop. Other pets are allowed on our patio if they are securely fastened.

A: Yes, we are LLBO licensed and sell alcohol for consumption dine-in only.
